Module summary
This module is suitable for students who already have a year's experience of the language beyond A-Level (or equivalent) in Latin. It is worth 10 credits and runs over both semesters, with 1 class per week. Objectives
To offer further instruction in the active use of classical Latin together with an introduction to Latin metrics and the historical development of the language.
Syllabus
Active language practice (including prose composition); metre (introduction to prosody; hexameter, pentameter and iambic meters); development of the Latin language.
